Today, Scott Guthrie, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of the .NET Developer Platform, announced that ASP.NET MVC 1.0 has been released under the Microsoft Public License (MS-PL), an OSI-approved open source license. ASP.NET MVC 1.0 is Microsoft’s free ASP.NET product for building web applications using a model-view-controller pattern. The 1.0 release was recently announced at MIX 09.
There are no platform restrictions under MS-PL and broad rights are given to modify and redistribute the source code. The full text of the MS-PL is available at: http://www.opensource.org/licenses/ms-pl.htm
